Dispatches from the "Morning Herald, and Daily Advertiser", September 3, 1783

It gives me pleasure to offer my readers the following account of events that were written about in the London newspaper, called the “Morning Herald and Daily Advertiser,” on Wednesday, September 3, 1783.

The first item reproduced below concerns the The War of Rebellion waged by our former American Colonies. Those haughty rapscallions will in due time come to see the folly of their ways, depend upon it. Recall that The Treaty of Paris, which had officially ended hostilities between Britain and those ungrateful Apostates, had been signed on that same day, though the War itself had ended two years previously---

The second item concerns an issue of a more mundane nature---namely, a new method for disposing of those vexing house flies---

Finally, dear reader, pay attention to this last story, as you will see contained therein the seeds for a novel that yours truly might have scribbled---
